The Watermelon Yogi Cocktail
makes 4 servings
5 ounces vodka
Some fresh basil
1-3 cups ice
Choose a watermelon - they are perfectly ripe when they make a hollow sound if you knock on the outside.
Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the meat. Either put the melon directly into a blender, or you can freeze the melon in a bowl for a thicker drink texture (think slush instead of drink).
Add the vodka and 6-8 leaves of fresh basil. Note you cannot substitute fresh basil for dried. It just won't work. For another flavour profile you can dry fresh mint instead of basil. Both are delish!
Blend all together with 1-3 cups of ice depending on the consistency you prefer. The more ice the more slush-like the drink will be.
Serve with an herb garnish and drink with good friends over a BBQ.

Of course, you are more than welcome to make this a work friendly drink and omit the vodka. Try adding a squeeze of lime and soda water too!
